Pre-Pro Ensemble
The Pre-Pro Ensemble is a seasonal educational experience for high school-college level dancers. Now in its 4th season, the program focuses on the art forms of tap dance and jazz music and is perfect for young dancers, aspiring to a career in the performing arts.

Graduates from our Pre-Pro Ensemble have gone on to become members of our professional ensemble, moSTLy TAP, and have been accepted to specialized tap programs throughout the country.

During this rigorous tap dance program, aspiring teen artists, work closely with members of our professional ensemble as well as special guest artists. Students train in technique, music theory, improvisation, and learn original and historical choreography. Auxiliary courses such as injury prevention, resume preparation, audition technique and others are offered. In addition, STLRC Pre-Pro students represent STL Rhythm Collaborative at our annual STL Rhythm Fest, which occurs during the last week of July. The program culminates with a performance in STLRC's moSTLy Holidays production in December. Students may also be invited to present performances throughout the year.

The program is broken into 3 separate sections, 2 of which are optional, but highly recommended for optimal growth.
To be considered for the program, dancers must attend program auditions, which usually occur annually in April.
Pre-Pro Junior Ensemble
The inaugural Pre-Pro Junior Ensemble is perfect for kids, ages 8-12, who love tap dance and are looking for more study and performance opportunities.
Throughout the program, students will study with dance professionals and special guests. Activities will include introductions to music theory, tap dance history, improvisation, and the artists currently making an impact on the art of tap dance today.

The program includes participation in a special summer workshop just for our Pre-Pro Junior Ensemble students and attendance at Tap Camp STL. Students will learn original choreography during weekly fall rehearsals and present a special performance in STL Rhythm Collaborative's moSTLy Holidays production in December 2024.
